We study the basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor neuronal PAS domain protein 3 (NPAS3) and its role in astrocyte energy metabolism. We used a BaseScope Npas3 probe to assess Npas3 mRNA expression in mouse brain tissue.

Tips

We used the Npas3 probe together with the BaseScope Detection Reagent Kit v2-RED (323910, ACD) according to the manufacturer’s instructions (Technical Note MK 51-149/Rev B, ACD) and integrated an immunostaining workflow with the following modification: Protease III (322337, ACD) was used for brain tissue pretreatment during the integrated co-detection workflow.

Results Summary

We used the Npas3 BaseScope probe (1186601-C1, ACD; GenBank accession number NM_013780.3; nucleotides 432–620) to validate the decrease in Npas3 expression in Npas3 conditional knockout mice. In the image: red dots represent Npas3 mRNA transcripts, green represents GFAP immunostaining, and blue represents DAPI staining.
