We assessed caspase-3 expression in human brain microvascular endothelial cells under basal conditions and following irradiation-induced senescence. Caspase-3 levels were reduced in irradiated cells, further supporting the acquisition of an apoptosis-resistant phenotype associated with cellular senescence.

Normalization was performed to the loading control β-tubulin. The antibody was able to detect with efficiency lower caspase-3 levels in irradiated cells, as expected.
