Kainate receptors have direct actions on intrinsic cell excitability in the hippocampus and modulate both glutamatergic and GABAergic synaptic transmission in a number of brain regions. Because of its biological importance, we focused on screening endogenous metabolites to look for activators of kainate receptors. We used kainic acid as a positive control for the fluorescence-based screen.
Prototypic kainate receptor agonist
Keep in -20C.
This agonist potently activates prototypic kainate receptor in a 293T cell-based fluorescence assay.
N/A
Potent activity.
This is a potent prototypic kainate receptor agonist and works well as a positive control.
