Amount of plasmid required for transfection varies depending on the purity of plasmid isolation and the kind of protein to be expressed. Always optimize the plasmid amount and percentage of transfection required before performing experiments.
Lipofectamine 3000 reagent gives very good transfection efficiency with less amount of plasmid without compromising cell viability.

Better efficiency, less cellular toxicity, and works with both DNA and RNA.
Expensive.
Though it is expensive but it is much better than other transfection reagents.
