I tried to use this antibody to verify the coIP of my HA-tagged protein. I saw 'bands' but not at my protein molecular weight an nothing in the cell lysate. After reflection, I concluded that the bands were heavy chain IgG from the magnetic beads used in the pull down. When I repeated the experiments and probed with a different HA-tag antibody, I saw the bands I was looking for.

Results Summary

This did not work for me to detect hA-tagged ferroportin. I wasted months of coIP trouble shooting because I didn't see my bands. Using a different antibody in western blotting would have saved me so much time and sanity. The blot shows my failed experiment. The first lane (IP) is a cross reaction of the secondary antibody with the heavy chain IgG from the magnetic beads. The other lane is the whole cell lysate.
