The detection of integrin α4 is not common among flow cytometry labs; however, in my lab we use it regularly. It (CD49d) has been found to be a prognostic marker for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The cutoff is usually 40%. Higher percentage is considered positive and correlates with poor prognosis.
