The aim of our research is to study neurodegeneration in the retina. The specific goal of this experiment was to quantify synaptic changes in the course of disease progression. This antibody demonstrated great staining for synaptophysin in the retina.
Immunofluorescence
Canine retina
Diluted at 1:2000, overnight at 4°C
10% normal donkey serum + 0.5% triton X + 0.1M PBS
Alexa 568 conjugated anti-rabbit IgG 1:500, 1 hr at RT
Fluorescence
Robust, very bright signals, with no unspecific binding in the retina. Retinal layers that have synapses were highlighted as red. Nuclei stained by DAPI.
Very robust signals.
Inherent limitations as polyclonal antibody.
This antibody worked great as synaptic markers in the retina.
