In research, it is often important to "reserve" common channels for unusual antibodies. Therefore, it is great that common antibodies, eg against CD19, can be found conjugated to fluorochromes that aren't used on daily basis. We needed CD19 on one such color, and we got it on APC-A750 (the antibody in review).

The antibody produced a good signal, showing reasonable resolution of the positive B cells from the negative, T and NK lymphocytes. Being a red-laser dye, there was a lot of compensation needed in both the APC and the APC-A700 channels. This is something that all labs need to be aware of. Otherwise, the staining was easy and the signal was good.
Good signal. ASR.
Expensive. Lots of compensation needed.
The antibody performed well, requiring little optimization but lots of compensation. The ASR tag is preferable in clinical trials.
