Company:

Merck

Product Name:

Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase Antibody

Catalog Number:

AB152

Clone Number:

I have used this antibody to detect dopaminergic neurons in the brain. It has worked very well in sample of mouse.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Mouse brain

Primary Incubation

Incubation was done with Ab diluted to 1:1,000 for 16h at 4ºC

Blocking Agent

BSA 4% in PBS

Secondary Incubation

Incubation was done with 2nd Ab diluted to 1:1,000 for 1h at room temperature

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Fluorescence (AF 647)

Results Summary

In all cases reactivity is quite good at 1:1,000 dilution. Within the VTA (ventral segmentar area), this protein is detected only in dopaminergic neurons and thus can be used to differentiate these neurons. I have captured this image in my confocal to show expression of this protein in the mouse VTA (please see my paper for details).
