We investigated the NLRP3 activation induced by bacterial extracellular vesicles in human macrophages. We used this kit to evaluate the caspase-1 activity in culture supernatant of differentiated human macrophages treated by bacterial EVs.

We used this kit to evaluate the caspase-1 activity in the culture supernatants of human macrophages treated by S. aureus extracellular vesicles. Consistent with the results from IL-1b induction, we showed that the caspase-1 activity in culture supernatants of human macrophages treated by S. aureus Evs was significantly higher than that in untreated cells. Thus the kit can be used to evaluate the caspase-1 activation.
