Human neutrophils were stained with Hoechst 33342 for use with image microscopy

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Image microscopy

Starting Material

Peripheral blood neutrophils

Tips

Titration recommended for specific cell types

Results Summary

Blood neutrophils were stained with Hoechst 33342 and imaged with the Image Xpress Pico. This dye was captured in the FITC channel and easily identified all cells in the field of view. The multiple lobes of the nuclei are also visible. For comparison I include the bright field + FITC for the same field of view

Summary

The Good

Dye is bright and give good nuclear imaging

The Bad

May require titration, and there are cheaper dyes available

The Bottom Line

Overall this dye is useful for imaging a variety of cell types, also obtained good results with an epithelial cell line
