Company:

Miltenyi Biotec

Product Name:

Tumor dissociation kit, mouse

Catalog Number:

130-096-730

Mouse cell lines were implanted in mice to generate tumors which were dissociated with the kit to yield single cells.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Flow Cytometry

Starting Material

Mouse mammary tumors.

Tips

Aliquot enzymes and store properly and mince tumors to larger than 2-4 mm pieces as suggested in protocol.

Results Summary

Implanted tumors from mouse cell lines were dissociated with the kit and generated many single cells. Viability appeared to be fine, although this maybe could have been improved with better tumor quality (less necrosis). Flow cytometry was able to be performed with the single cells.

Summary

The Good

Very easy to use.

The Bad

May lose many viable cells.

The Bottom Line

It may be best to compare this method with other procedures to extract single cells from tumors to optimize maximum retrieval of viable cells. However, this kit is quick and easy to use, compatible for flow cytometry analysis.
