Rapamycin has been known as an inhibitor of mTOR, our lab is interested in looking at the effects specifically on mTORC1. Since p-S6 is downstream of mTOR, it is a known indicator of the effectiveness of inhibition.

Results Summary

There is always a shift in the p-S6 expression upon activation with rapamycin. As shown on the histogram, there is an expression difference in the untreated and rapamycin treated. Therefore this antibody works well to show a lo, mid, and hi expression of p-S6.
