My project mainly focuses on murine CD8 T cells therefore an isolation kit that doesn't break the bank and works well is a must in our lab. The BioLegend magnet is fairly easy to use with a 15mL polypropylene tube and pour to obtain the negative fraction of an isolation (thus our cells of interest).

Wash the edges of the tube really well otherwise the magnet might be too strong and there is a huge amount of cell loss.

The purity is always high

The Bad

Although the purity is high, the loss of cells is always very high

The Bottom Line

The cost of this isolation kit is extremely low compared to other companies out there. Our lab recently converted from Miltenyi to BioLegend due to the overall cost of each isolation. Therefore this is a great alternative (just needs adjustment and optimizations).
