K015.1

Concentrated solution for Bradford assay measurements. Easy to use and works well for many proteins but not an accurate measuring technique for others.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Protein quantification via Bradford assay

Starting Material

Protein

Protocol Overview

Dilute solution to 1:50 with water and add 200 µL of this solution to wells of a clear 96-well plate. Make a standard curve and prepare proteins. Add 1 µL of protein to each well containing the roti-quant solution.

Tips

For this protocol I make a standard curve from 0–8 mg/mL.

Results Summary

This assay is extremely sensitive to human error. Standard curves are precise and replicable if extreme care is taken with how the reagents are pipetted onto the plate. If so, results are replicable and accurate.

Summary

The Good

Very little protein is needed and the assay requires no incubation time.

The Bad

It is extremely sensitive to human error.

The Bottom Line

If you take extreme care with how you're pipetting and your proteins can be quantified with a Bradford assay, then I highly recommend using this Roti-quant reagent.
