The alarm system isn't always accurate, and if the liquid nitrogen was just refilled, putting back the racks too quickly can result in spillage.
The Bottom Line
This is extremely convenient for labs that regularly put cell lines in and out of liquid nitrogen storage. The alarm sometimes gives false rings even though the tank is filled.
