CAND2, also named TIP120B, is the exchange factor for Cullin RING E3 ligases. Compared to CAND1, the abundance of CAND2 in cells is much lower, and good antibody for CAND2 is less available. After testing the antibody from several companies and digging into literatures, we found that this one from Bethyl works fine, although not perfect.

Results Summary

There is a strong nonspecific band at around 60 kDa. But a clear band is seen at the desired molecular weight around 130 kDa, and it disappeared in the knockout cell line. The other CAND2 antibody from Sigma did not work at all.

Summary

The Good

Detects the right protein with relatively good signal

The Bad

Signal is not very strong, and there is a non-specific band

The Bottom Line

If you can't find a better source of antibody for this protein, this CAND2 antibody works OK, since it is verified by our knockout cell line.
