Our research interests include understanding the mechanisms underlying use of kinesin inhibitors as treatments for cancer. In these assays, we sought to determine cell cycle distribution following treatment with an Eg5 inhibitor, ispinesib, in ovarian cancer cell lines.

Tips

Be careful to regularly clean the instrument and to run QC checks often. Often we return to use the istrument after a break in use to find it not working (e.g. clogged). Also, it may be useful to have a person who monitors the instrument to ensure lasers are turned off after use.
