Thermal cycler is used for polymerase chain reaction and cDNA synthesis. The machine is dependable and makes reproducible strong bands. This model comes with a variety of functions but the best one is being reliable.
PCR
Thermal cycler is used for PCR with mouse DNA. Mouse tails are digested overnight and then raw DNA is amplified using taq polymerase and other reagents inside the 48 well block. Amplified DNA is then run on a gel.The thermal cycler is also used for cDNA synthesis using a Maxima cDNA synthesis kit.
Do not leave the thermal cycler overnight at 4 degrees. This causes condensation to fill the blocks. Make sure the thermal cycler has enough airflow around.
There are two 48 well blocks allowing for two programs to run at once. Blocks are detachable. Thermal cycler has two temperature options: temperature and gradient temperature. Maximum time is 18 hours a step and able to do 99 steps with a possible 9999 repeats. There is a simple small screen with buttons for navigation
