Product Name:

REDExtract-N-Amp™ PCR ReadyMixRed

Catalog Number:

R4775

We use this for all of our genotyping-usually ear clips that have been digested in Sigma extraction and neutralization solutions. We've used this product since before my time in the lab, so I don't have a whole lot to compare it to, but it works phenomenally for even trickier PCR reactions.

Application

PCR

Starting Material

Mouse ear clips

Protocol Overview

For each 10ul reaction I use 1ul DNA, 3 ul H2O, 1ul primer (10uM), and 5ul of this mix. Protocol then depends on which gene you are amplifying.

Tips

Try to prevent freeze thaw! I typically make 100ul aliquots

The Bottom Line

Great product if you're looking for easy peasy PCR. It's all I've ever tried and I typically do 30-50 mice per week with between 2-4 genes per mouse. This really helps with my efficiency so I can move on to more interesting things!
