Product Name:

Sheep polyclonal EBF-2 antibody

Catalog Number:

AF7006

This antibody was used to analyze the distribution of EBF-2(Early B-Cell Factor 2)  in embryonic neural tissues. This polyclonal anti EBF-2  antibody appears  specific to cell nuclei as expected for a transcription factor and is specific for a subset of neurons of the embryonic neural spine.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Mouse embryonic tissue section (E16.5)

Primary Incubation

1:200, overnight, at 4C in Blocking agent, on slide

Blocking Agent

TBS, 1% FBS, 0.1% TritonX100, 30min, at RT

Secondary Incubation

1:500, AlexaFluor-488-conjugated anti-Sheep IgG secondary (Molecular Probes), overnight, at 4C in Blocking agent, on shaker

Tertiary Incubation

N/A

Detection

Fluorescent microscope, FITC/GFP filter for AlexaFluor-488 detection

Results Summary

This antibody works well on fixed tissue section of embryos. Specificity for nuclei, marks a subset of neurons in the embryonic neural spine, symmetric relative to the midline.

Summary

The Good

Specific signal in nuclei of some embryonic neurons by immunofluorescence

The Bad

Signal is moderately strong

The Bottom Line

Good antibody overall. Recommended for immunofluorescence study of embryonic structures on tissue sections. This antibody reacts with EBF-2 essentially distributed in nuclei of a subpopulation of neurons but also some mesodermal derivatives
