The overall goal of my research is to understand sexual transmission of HIV. The specific goal of this project was to phenotype the cells infected at various mucosal sites. This product was chosen due to coworker recommendation.
Flow cytometry analysis
Rhesus Macaque tissues and isolated PBMCs
Cells were isolated from tissue or from blood. After enzymatic and mechanical cell isolation from tissue dead cell removal kit was used according to manufacturer's recommendation. Cells were then stained with Live dead stain to test the yield of live cells.
Filter cells a bit at a time to prevent filter clogging.
This kit did not work as ideal as expected.

Not completely successful in separating the cell debris
This kit is useful to eliminate some of the dead cells and debris however not perfect.
