LUNA-II™ Automated Cell Counter

L40002

Cell counting is performed on a routine basis when setting up cell culture experiments. The accuracy of cell counts and viability determine the right density of cells to be plated and are hence crucial in cell culture work. Traditionally, haemocytometers were used but more recently automated cell counters are replacing the manual counting method as these allow for quick and more reliable counts to be derived.

Protocol Overview

It is a very simple and easy cell counting method. Add 10 ul of your sample to 10 ul of trypan blue dye. Mix well and load 10 ul to the appropriate chamber on the counting slide. Insert the slide, preview the cells and/or focus. Press count and it automatically derives the cell count and viability.

Tips

Mix the sample and dye well.
