Coomassie brilliant blue solution is required for staining the protein bands after SDS-PAGE. I use the ready made solution from Bio-Rad and I am really satisfied with the staining it gives. It is highly specific and sensitive. There is no blue background post-destaining, which makes every gel a great looking gel.

Purified protein samples
I loaded different proteins samples in the gel and ran SDS-PAGE. I stained the gel with coomassie brilliant blue solution for 30 minutes and destained it for another 30 minutes.
Always handle it carefully, it has methanol and acetic acid.
Bands were clean, sharp and bright.
