PD1 (Programmed Death receptor 1) is expressed on chronically activated and exhausted T cells. Hence, it is only expressed during tumors or chronic infections on T cells. I wanted to measure PD-1 expression in tumor infiltrating T cells. The antibody showed very bright expression, only in tumor infiltrating T cells but not in the spleen. The PD1 expression also correlated with tumor size and growth which is suggested by existing literature.

Bright expression of PD1 was observed on in tumor infiltrating CD8 T cells, but not in spleen. Thus, the antibody is highly specific and staining by fluorophore is quite bright.
