Vitrocell Smoking Robot VC 10

Catalog Number:

VC10

We study the effects of cigarette smoke in airway epithelial cells. This is a great model to expose the cells to whole cigarette smoke (instead of condensate).

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Cigarette Smoke exposure

Starting Material

Airway epithelial cells

Protocol Overview

Cells were exposed to whole smoke using the Vitrocell VC10 smoke exposure system with the smoke from 3R4F research grade cigarettes (Lexington, KY) or air as a control.

Tips

Need to learn the troubleshooting guide and know the location of sensors.

Results Summary

In this study we use whole cigarette smoke exposure on in vitro cultures of airway epithelial cells.

Features Summary

Can mimic whole cigarette exposure

Summary

The Good

Great model to use

The Bad

The robot requires cleaning. Would strongly recommend a smoker to do this job. The smoke accumulates in different parts and when dissembling the robot, this experience to a smoker would not be as bad compared to a non smoker.

The Bottom Line

Good model for whole cigarette smoke exposure on in vitro cultures.
