Protocol Overview

The principle of the SGPT Assay Kit is L-Alanine is converted into L-Lactate in a two step reaction with help of enzymes alanine aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase. The rate of decrease in absorbance is monitored at 340nm and is directly proportional to SGPT concentration in the sample.

Tips

The kit is sensitive enough to allow estimation in range of 450 IU/L levels and for higher values samples should be diluted with normal saline and results can be calculated by multiplying with dilution factor.
