Thiol Assay Kits

Thiol assay kits are versatile laboratory tools to determine the abundance or concentration of thiol in biological samples. The defining functional group of thiol compounds, the sulfhydryl (–SH), is found in cysteine and many protein cofactors. Thiol assays generally involve the addition of a thiol-reactive reagent, such as Ellman's reagent (DTNB) that produces a colored reaction or a fluorescent product. The colorimetric or fluorometric measurement of the product is used to determine the concentration of thiols in the sample.
