Starch Assay Kits

Starch assay kits contain reagent sets to determine the abundance or concentration of starch in biological samples. Starch is a dietary carbohydrate polymer of amylose and amylopectin synthesized by plants. Starch assays typically involve the hydrolysis of starch into glucose units by amyloglucosidase. The converted glucose is subsequently measured by a glucose assay which can be measured colorimetrically or fluorometrically.
