
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns are used in the analytical or preparative separation of compounds from a complex mixture. The sample mixture dissolved in the mobile phase solvent interacts with the column resin, separating the components of the sample as they elute out. While HPLC columns vary in build, volume, and chemistry (also known as Mode), they are designed to operate within HPLC systems under high pressure. Good selectivity, high efficiency, and fast analysis are important features of a suitable column.
