Annexin V is a protein known to bind to membrane phosphatidylserine molecules to identify apoptotic cells. It is commonly used to detect apoptotic cells in vitro and in vivo. During the process of apoptosis, phosphatidylserine translocates from the cytosolic side of the plasma membrane to the extracellular membrane. This allowing binding and detection by Annexin V using flow cytometry with various fluorophores (such as FITC, RPE) or even non-fluorescent tags such as biotin. Visit the supplier page for details on the annexin V staining kits below, including kit components and applications.
