Neutrophils are highly abundant leukocytes in the bloodstream, comprising more than 50% of all leukocytes. They sweep through the blood vessels and survey for infections or inflammation. They are then recruited within minutes to sites of injury following trauma. A type of granulocyte, neutrophils arise from the myeloblast precursor. Neutrophil isolation products are available for the convenient collection using well-established magnetic bead technology.
