MTM1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein myotubularin 1, which is encoded by the MTM1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a lipid phosphatase, which dephosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 3-monophosphate (PI3P) and phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PI(3,5)P2). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 603 residues, a mass of 69.9 kDa, and is a member of the Protein-tyrosine phosphatase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The MTM1 gene has been associated with the disease, Myopathy.
