Functionally, this protein is a known subunit of the V1 complex of vacuolar(H+)-ATPase (V-ATPase), a multisubunit enzyme composed of a peripheral complex (V1) that hydrolyzes ATP and a membrane integral complex (V0) that translocates protons. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 382 residues, a mass of 43.9 kDa, and is a member of the V-ATPase C subunit protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and membrane and is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
