These Bak ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of Bak in biological samples. Bak is an alias of the human BAK1 gene, which encodes the protein, BCL2 antagonist/killer 1. Notably, Bak is known to play a role in pathways of aging and the apoptotic pathway, among other functions. The BAK1 protein is 211 amino acid residues in length and 23.4 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in a wide variety of tissues, with highest levels in the heart and skeletal muscle. Other names for this target antigen include BAK-LIKE.
The detection range for different Bak ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 0.16 ng/mL and as high as 50 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
