Functionally, this protein is a known component of the cytochrome c oxidase, the last enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain which drives oxidative phosphorylation. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 83 residues, a mass of 9.4 kDa, and is a member of the Cytochrome c oxidase VIIa protein family.
