Troponin T ELISA kits are assays designed to detect the protein troponin T, which is part of the troponin complex in cardiac and skeletal muscles. Also known as TnT, it is one of three types of troponin, the others being troponin C and I. TnT plays a role in anchoring the complex to the muscle fibers. Measuring levels of cardiac TnT in the blood can be used to determine if an individual has suffered recent injuries to the heart (such as during a heart attack) as TnT becomes elevated after injury.
