However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed in fetal brain, testis, and skeletal muscle, and at a lower level in adult brain, leukocytes, liver, heart, kidney, spleen, ovary and lung.
