Ready-to-use ELISA kits are available for the detection of NCDase, an alias of the protein, N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase 2. The official gene symbol is ASAH2. The protein, with a mass of 85.5 kDa and length of 780 residues, is reported to be mitochondrial, membrane-associated and secreted. It is a member of the Neutral ceramidase family and may be known by other names, including: BCDase, non-lysosomal ceramidase, mitochondrial ceramidase, acylsphingosine deacylase 2, N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase (non-lysosomal ceramidase) 2, and neutral ceramidase, and LCDase.
