These 20-ALPHA-HSD ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of 20-ALPHA-HSD in biological samples. 20-ALPHA-HSD is an alias of the human AKR1C1 gene, which encodes the protein, aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C1. Notably, 20-ALPHA-HSD is known to play a role in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and epithelial cell differentiation, among other functions. The AKR1C1 protein is described to be 323 amino acid residues in length and 36.8 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in all tissues tested including liver, prostate, testis, adrenal gland, brain, uterus, mammary gland and keratinocytes. Other names for this target antigen include 2-ALPHA-HSD and C9. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
