IP3 ELISA kits are assays designed to detect inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3), a secondary messenger and signaling molecule. It is made by the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) by phospholipase C. It regulates the release of calcium by binding to its receptor IP3R, and mobilizes Ca 2+ from storage organelles. IP3 has been associated with diseases such as Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s. Visit the supplier page for more information about detection range and reactivity.
