Ready-to-use ELISA kits are available for the detection of ENaC, an alias of the protein, sodium channel epithelial 1 alpha subunit. The official gene symbol is SCNN1A. The kits can detect several species variants of the protein, including: human and rat. The protein, with a mass of 75.7 kDa and length of 669 residues, is reported to be cytoplasmic and membrane-associated. It is a member of the Amiloride-sensitive sodium channel (TC 1.A.6) family, SCNN1A subfamily and may be known by other names, including: epithelial Na(+) channel subunit alpha, amiloride-sensitive sodium channel subunit alpha 2, alpha-NaCH, alpha-ENaC, alpha ENaC-2, and amiloride-sensitive sodium channel subunit alpha, and nonvoltage-gated sodium channel 1 subunit alpha.
