It is known to be localized in the membrane and is found to be widely expressed, with prominent expression in the cochlea. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The GREB1L gene has been associated with the disease, Renal hypodysplasia/aplasia. Other alias names for this target include growth regulation by estrogen in breast cancer 1 like, growth regulation by estrogen in breast cancer 1-like protein, growth regulation by estrogen in breast cancer-like, and GREB1-like protein.
