MRAP ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein melanocortin 2 receptor accessory protein, which is encoded by the MRAP gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in protein localization to the plasma membrane. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 172 residues, a mass of 19.1 kDa, and is a member of the MRAP protein family. It is known to be localized in the ER and cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in adrenal cortex, testis, breast, thyroid, lymph node, ovary and fat. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. The MRAP gene has been associated with the disease, Glucocorticoid deficiency.
