Functionally, this protein is an important component of the eNoSC (energy-dependent nucleolar silencing) complex, a complex that mediates silencing of rDNA in response to intracellular energy status and acts by recruiting histone-modifying enzymes. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 456 residues, a mass of 50.7 kDa, and is a member of the RRP8 protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus.
