PENK ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein proenkephalin, which is encoded by the PENK gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a neuropeptide that competes with and mimic the effects of opiate drugs. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 267 residues, a mass of 30.8 kDa, and is a member of the Opioid neuropeptide precursor protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and is secreted. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally cleaved. Other alias names for this target include PENK-A, proenkephalin-A, enkephalin A, peptide F, preproenkephalin, and PE.
Some PENK ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.781 pg/mL and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
