The following TAO kinase 3 ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of TAO kinase 3 in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the TAOK3 gene. This protein is a type of serine/threonine-protein kinase that acts as a regulator of the p38/MAPK14 stress-activated MAPK cascade and of the MAPK8/JNK cascade. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 898 residues, a mass of 105.4 kDa, and is a member of the STE Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. In addition, it is found to be widely expressed at a low level, and highly expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs), thymus, spleen, kidney, skeletal muscle, heart and liver. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally phosphorylated. This protein may also be known as JIK, MAP3K18, hKFC-A, serine/threonine-protein kinase TAO3, CTCL-associated antigen HD-CL-09, and DPK.
