The following Nicalin ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of nicalin in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the NCLN gene. This protein is a known component of the multi-pass translocon (MPT) complex that mediates insertion of multi-pass membrane proteins into the lipid bilayer of membranes. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 563 residues, a mass of 63 kDa, and is a member of the Nicastrin protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the ER. In addition, it is reported to be highly expressed in pancreas and skeletal muscle and, at lower levels, in heart. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally glycosylated. This protein may also be known as nicalin homolog, nicastrin-like protein, and BOS complex subunit NCLN.
The detection range for different nicalin ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 0.156 ng/mL and as high as 10 ng/mL.
