NCAN ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein neurocan, which is encoded by the NCAN gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is believed to modulate neuronal adhesion and neurite growth during development by binding to neural cell adhesion molecules (NG-CAM and N-CAM). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 1321 residues, a mass of 143.1 kDa, and is a member of the Aggrecan/versican proteoglycan protein family. It is known to be secreted and is notably expressed in cerebrospinal fluid. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally O-glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include neurocan core protein, chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 3 (neurocan), neurocan proteoglycan, and CSPG3.
The detection range for different NCAN ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 31.2 pg/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
