MT3 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein metallothionein 3, which is encoded by the MT3 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to bind heavy metals. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 68 residues, a mass of 6.9 kDa, and is a member of the Metallothionein protein superfamily. It is notably expressed in a subset of astrocytes in the normal human brain, but greatly reduced in the Alzheimer disease (AD) brain. Other alias names for this target include GIFB, GRIF, ZnMT3, growth inhibitory factor, metallothionein 3 (growth inhibitory factor (neurotrophic)), and GIF.
Some MT3 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 30 ng/L and as high as 10 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
